His key interest and purpose is improving teacher effectiveness. We know what makes effective teachers based on years of evidence-based meta-analysis research (John Hattie, Robert Marzano, etc). Unfortunately, rarely has this information been at the forefront of teacher professional development. Instead, the emphasis has been on “what to teach” (standards & elaborate curriculum) rather than on “how to teach” (teaching methods and strategies). Knowing “how to teach” using the best evidence-based methods is the key to unlock student learning.
I2L solves this by providing a teacher-friendly list of strategies and associated resources to facilitate understanding.
I2L has been created to do the following:
* Inform educators on the importance of Evidence-based methods.
* Provide educators with a simple, ever-evolving Registry of instructional methods and influences ranked in order of effectiveness.
*For each strategy in the Registry, a curated collection of Teacher Practical Guidance (TPG) is provided that includes articles, video’s and links to practical examples.
*Provide Application examples of I2L including how to use in PLC, MTSS, and intervention meetings.
*Share the effective in-house PD model utilized by schools to facilitate teacher growth and development.
